What is Apostille Attestation?
Apostille Attestation is an official authentication process that validates the legitimacy of a document for use in Hague Convention member countries. The Hague Convention of 1961 introduced the Apostille system to simplify international document legalization by eliminating the need for Embassy Attestation. This means that any document issued in one Hague Convention country can be directly recognized in another without further authentication by embassies or consulates.
Before the Hague Convention, getting a document legalized for international use required multiple layers of authentication, including State Authentication, MEA Attestation, and Embassy Attestation. This was a time-consuming and costly process.
